No injuries reported; property damage significant

Heavy rains on April 27 led to some high waters and hairy moments at Roaring River State Park, as flooding shut down camping through the weekend and cleanup is still being completed.
Storms Trigger Flooding, Spawn Tornadoes in Southern Plains, Missouri, Arkansas

Severe weather brought flooding and tornadoes that caused damage in parts of Oklahoma, Missouri and other states overnight and into Wednesday afternoon.
Flooding was reported in Branson, Missouri, as well as several other areas, including Abilene, Texas, and Bentonville, Arkansas.
The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District said several motorists were stranded and had to be rescued in the Branson area.
There was also a possible tornado in Branson, where downed trees damaged a historic cabin at Shepherd of the Hills Farm.

Roaring River Nature Center hosting Earth Day celebration
Join the Roaring River State Park Ozark Chinquapin Nature Center on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Earth Day 2021 and learn how to make a difference in preserving Missouris natural resources. Community partners will be at the park to provide games and crafts, and the Department of Conservation will be handing out native trees. This event is free and open to the public. Alumni Banquet scheduled
The annual Cassville High School Alumni Association Banquet will be May 29 in the CHS Commons Area. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. Dinner and dues are $15. Any class having a special reunion may contact Kay Baker at 417-847-4219 to make reservations.

Tuesdays election resolved numerous Barry County races, some by the slightest of margins, in a year with many unopposed races.
Barry County tallied one of the lowest voter turnouts for Aprils vote in recent years, mustering only 6.7 percent turnout or 1,483 votes. A lack of contests at the municipal level contributed to apathy among voters.
