Chilean Olympic Committee launches More Female Athletes campaign Wednesday, 10 March 2021
The Chilean Olympic Committee (COCH) has announced the creation of the More Female Athletes programme that aims to promote the participation of women in sports where there is a predominance of men.
The campaign has been launched as part of the COCH’s commemoration of International Women’s Day held on March 8.
Member Federations are expected to take part in a COCH survey that aims to detect which sports have far more men than women playing.
Once the data has been collected, the COCH plans to work with the Member Federations to find solutions to redress that balance in the short and medium term.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has refused to recognise the election of Viktor Lukashenko as President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Republic of Belarus and Dmitry Baskov as a Board member.

Both men were banned from attending the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games by the IOC in December after allegations of political discrimination towards athletes following protests against Lukashenko’s controversial re-election as Belarus President last August.
Belarusian Ice Hockey Association President and NOCRB Board member Baskov was also sanctioned by the IOC.
