High-ranking political office bearers take home the same salaries this year, for the third year in a row.
President Cyril Ramaphosa signed off and gazetted the salaries this week.
This year, National Assembly speaker, the chair of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) and the deputy president are entitled to a salary package of R2,825,470.
Each package is inclusive of a basic salary, which is 60% of the total package.

ISLAMABAD: Farrukh Habib joined the federal cabinet as state minister on information, while Usman Dar returned to his previous role as the Premier’s aide on Thursday, according to a Cabinet Division notification.
Habib took the oath of office as Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry and other parliamentarians.
Habib was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from Faisalabad’s NA-108 constituency in the 2018 elections. Before his new assignment, he was serving as Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways.

PTI MNA Farrukh Habib was appointed Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday.
The appointment was announced in a statement on Twitter by recently appointed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, who congratulated Habib.
According to Chaudhry, Habib will take oath of his office tomorrow.
Habib was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from Faisalabad s NA-108 constituency in the 2018 elections.
He is currently serving as the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways.
