Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar on Sunday said it was necessary to hold the second year Pre-University (Class 12) exams, in the interest of students future. An appropriate decision will be taken in the days to come, considering various aspects and the Centre s suggestions, he said.

The Minister, who participated in the meeting of the Education Ministers of all states organised by the Centre s Ministry of Education, stressed the need to hold exams for second PU students in some way as they prepare for professional courses. Earlier this month, the Karnataka government had postponed the second PUC (Class 12) examinations which were scheduled to begin from May 24, citing a surge in COVID cases as the reason.

He advised against taking steroids to treat Covid infection without consulting doctor and said that eating healthy foods can help in boosting immunity to fight infection. White fungus (Aspergillosis) is not as dangerous as black fungus. The treatment for the latter can continue for 1-1.5 months hence early diagnosis is critical. Don t take steroids to treat Covid without consulting your doctor, he said.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 3 (ANI): Karnataka Congress president DK Shivkumar on Monday slammed the state government over the incident of Chamarajanagar district hospital and said criminal negligence has led to these 24 deaths in state.
Shivkumar also hit out at Cheif Minister BS Yediyurappa and Health Minister K Sudhakar for assuring people that the state has enough amount of oxygen. Criminal negligence has led to these 24 deaths in Karnataka. Why do Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Health Minister K Sudhakar keep lying everyday saying there is enough oxygen? Is there no accountability? How many more will be killed because the government cannot supply Oxygen? Shivkumar tweeted.
