A man was jailed for six months on Monday morning after a “brazen” attempt to steal a truck and trailer.

Curtis Worth, 31, pleaded guilty to attempted theft of a motor vehicle and breaking into a shed.
Crown attorney Deidre Badcock said that at approximately 8 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2019, a resident of 24th Street North reported someone had broken into his Ford F-150 pickup truck a few minutes before and had done substantial damage to it.
Nothing was missing from the vehicle, but the suspect hooked up a utility trailer to the truck and was trying to take the whole thing. They had also loaded up the truck with things from a nearby shed, which was pried open.

It may seem relatively calm and mild in Winnipeg, but many other parts of Manitoba woke up to winter weather warnings that forced some schools and highways to close.

It may seem relatively calm and mild in Winnipeg, but many other parts of Manitoba woke up to winter weather warnings that forced some schools and highways to close.
An intense low-pressure system will continue to work its way east today, CBC meteorologist John Sauder forecasts. Ahead of the system is a band of freezing rain that is now moving into Ontario.
