Weymouth Rotary Club fights off pandemic and wintery blues to raise cash for good causes

MEMBERS of a Weymouth organisation fought off the pandemic and the winter blues to raise cash for a good cause. The Rotary Club of Weymouth raised £1,000 during a socially-distanced Christmas charity collection in the town centre for local charities including MV Freedom as well as The Nest in Weymouth. The Rotary Club s annual Fayre in the Square event around Hope Square and the harbourside which includes raffles, social events, a charity cider bars, supermarket collections, had to be cancelled last yera due to Covid-19 restrictions. This year s event is also off, going ahead online only. Club president Rose Bruce said: These events were ruled out due to Covid as have our usual convivial club nights and race nights at Pilgrim House.
