A Mackay man was flown to hospital following a single vehicle crash near Lake Elphinstone on Friday.
The man in his 50s sustained minor injuries and indicated neck and spine pain, after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a ditch at high speed along Kemmis Creek Road, about 2.30pm. The vehicle ended up in a ditch off the road.
A RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said the incident was caused from a distraction inside the vehicle.
The man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition on-board the CQ Rescue helicopter.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) An innocent driver was killed, and another driver is now facing criminal charges after a violent crash in west Harris County.
Around 1 a.m. Monday, investigators say the victim was pulling out of a gas station parking lot at Westpark and Highway 6.
That s when the victim s car was hit by the 24-year-old driver of a Lexus, who deputies say was traveling at a very high rate of speed. Officials believe the driver was drunk.
The impact of the crash caused the victim s car to be pushed into a ditch.

Two people died and five others hurt, including a 6-year-old boy, in a high-speed crash Wednesday evening on the border of the Scottsdale and Ashburn neighborhoods on the Southwest Side.
A southbound driver in a Lincoln Aviator was traveling at a “high rate of speed” on Pulaski Road about 9:30 p.m. when she crashed into the side of a northbound Ford Explorer turning left onto 85th Street, Chicago police said in a statement. DPS Identifies Driver Killed in Rollover Crash Near Wall
SAN ANGELO, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety has revealed more information on the crash that occurred Saturday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Jan 9, troopers with the DPS were dispatched to FM 765, 10 miles East of San Angelo, for the report of a rollover crash.
When the troopers arrived they discovered a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup and towed trailer that was rolled over on the side of the road.
The only person in the truck was the driver, Derell Payne, 59, of San Angelo, who was pronounced dead on scene by Justice of the Peace Fred Buck.
