Showers to start the week and there is another chance later this week

Showers to start the week and there is another chance later this week Bill Ragan posted this picture to www.facebook.com/TVDaveHovde #BeOnKSBY Posted at 3:45 PM, Mar 15, 2021 and last updated 2021-03-15 20:39:23-04 The bulk of Monday s weather system rolled thru in the middle of the overnight but the cold unstable air in the base of the trough kept some showers and even some small hail showers going into the afternoon. Totals were not large, but winds were significant and advisories are in place thru 7pm for some 20-30mph winds with 50mph gust potential. A high surf advisory remains into early Tuesday.

Temps set to cool for the weekend

Temps set to cool for the weekend Michele Sherman posted this photo to www.facebook.com/TVDaveHovde #BeOnKSBY and last updated 2021-03-04 20:39:10-05 Friday will be a nice day with sunshine after some areas of early low clouds both at the beaches and interior valleys. Enjoy the day because cooler weather is around the corner and some wind for the weekend. There is a cold front that will march down the state on late Friday passing thru the Central Coast Saturday but doesn t look much much rain is possible. I think a few light showers are possible but I think most people will not see rain (best chance is north and at coastal areas or higher elevations). The larger impact will be wind on Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday when NW winds 15-25mph are likely and some higher gusts are possible near the coast.

High Surf for S Oregon Coast; Washington Coast High Winds

High Surf for All Oregon Coast; Washington Coast High Winds | Snow in Passes Upated 02/25/21 By Oregon Coast Beach Connection staff (Portland, Oregon) – UPDATED: HIGH SURF ADVISORY ADDED FOR N. OREGON COAST. Extra caution will be needed on the beaches of Oregon this week, and possibly the passes to and from the coast. Quite a mixed bag of weather and surf conditions are heading to the Oregon and Washington coast over the next few days, with a high surf advisory soon to be in effect for Oregon’s coast and parts of the Washington coast under high wind and flooding advisories. Large waves are predicted for Oregon’s northern half as well, and to top it off there will be snow in the higher elevations of the Coast Range over the weekend.

Temps will start to cool down as winds pick up

Temps will start to cool down as winds pick up Michele Sherman posted this pic to www.facebook.com/TVDaveHovde #BeOnKSBY and last updated 2021-02-23 20:27:35-05 The week started off with much above normal temperatures in the 70s, even mid to upper 70s for some. We ll start to lose some of that heat from Wednesday to the end of the week. There is a high surf advisory in place into later Wednesday: The ridge of high pressure over California is being replaced by an inside slider trough. The winds will pick up as this feature moves through Wednesday and more ridging builds in the wake.
