UPSC exam: Candidates who missed last attempt in 2020 due to Covid will get another chance

The Central Government on Friday agreed to give an extra chance to UPSC CSE Prelims candidates who had their last attempt for the Civil Services exam in 2020 but could not appear for the exam owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The Supreme Court was hearing a plea today by Rachna Singh, a civil services aspirant, seeking an extra attempt in the UPSC exams for those candidates who had their last attempt in the exam was held on 4 October last year.

Union Public Service Commission, UPSC would be conducting the Civil Services Prelims 2021 in June. The online application process would begin from February 10, 2021. Candidates who aspire to become an IAS Officer or join other branches like IPS, IFS and so on need to appear and qualify the UPSC Civil Services examinations. Ahead of the application process, here is a brief guide on the first step to becoming an IAS Officer – the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam or UPSC Prelims 2021 exam as normally called.
New Delhi [India], January 11 (ANI/SRV Media): Clearing the Union Public Service Commission (USPC) Prelims might be difficult due to enhanced competition this year, courtesy the COVID-19 and resultant lockdown in the country.
Due to the loss of jobs during lockdown, the craze for government jobs particularly the UPSC Civil Services has increased among the youth. Even those who are working from home in the private sector have also been inclined towards Civil Services as there is more job security in the government sector. There are many whose salaries have reduced during the lockdown in India.
They are also looking for better opportunities and the only viable option seems to them is the coming UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021. The notification for this exam will be released by UPSC in February and the Preliminary exam will be conducted in June this year.
