A subsidiary of Tesla is reportedly building a gigantic battery to reinforce Texas power grid after it neared a total failure during the recent winter storm. Gambit Energy Storage has been quietly constructing the 100-megawatt battery in Angleton, just south of Houston, according to Bloomberg. The battery has the capacity to power 20,000 homes and could be up and running by June 1st, says Bloomberg. Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted, ERCOT is not earning that R, after it started mandatory outages statewide during the winter storm.
