CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The City Council approved a rate increase for Clarksville Gas & Water at their Thursday meeting, clearing the way for multiple infrastructure projects including construction of a North Clarksville water treatment plant.
Council members voted 11-2 to approve the rate increase. The two no votes came from Wallace Redd of Ward 4 and Trisha Butler of Ward 12.

FORREST COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - An argument at a Carnes business Monday and subsequent tips from the community led to the arrest of two men on separate charges.
According to the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, it began when 25-year-old Tyler Chance and 26-year-old Blake McCinnis got into argument at a business in the 1200 block of Carnes Road.
The sheriff’s office said Chance ran from the scene and stolen a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

How to reserve a camping spot
Reserving a camping site at Big Hollow costs $25 per night. Buddy site cost is $50 and must be done on the conservation s camping registration website at mycountyparks.com/County/Des-Moines.aspx.
Reservations are nonrefundable and must be made 5 days in advance. Weekend reservations must be for both Friday and Saturday nights, except for Memorial Day and Labor Day which require reservations for Sunday night as well.
The residents traced the smoke to bushes on fire behind the duplex, and they began trying to extinguish the flames, but with winds pushing the fire into the home, the fire was unable to be held back, Clousher said.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire engulfing the rear of both sides of the duplex, and they jumped into action to knock back the flames. Firefighters worked extensively to open up the walls of the home, searching for hotspots of fire.
The Red Cross was on scene assisting the six residents with displacement. Clousher said two residents lived on one side of the duplex and four lived on the other.
