Agartala, June 5 : Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, after being impressed by a Facebook message posted by a poverty stricken teenager girl, has provided a study table, medicines for her Covid-affected mother and a bag containing various foods and essentials, officials said.
Barsha Das, a student of Class 8 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), has recently posted two Facebook messages drawing the attention of the Chief Minister.
The girl in her messages said that she, her parents along with her toddler brother lives in a makeshift small home at Maheshkaha on the outskirts of the city.
Barsha Das, a student of Class 8 at a school near here, is on cloud nine as Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, taking note of her request on Facebook, has sent her a study table, medicines for her ailing mother, and packets of food items.

Manish Shukla, a lawyer, a social worker and a councilor of BJP was mercilessly shot by assailants riding on motor cycles. The incident took place near the Titagarh Police Station in the District of North 24 Parganas at 8.30 PM on Sunday, 4 October 2020.
The victim was talking with a few people and having tea outside his Scorpio car when masked gunmen opened several rounds of fire at him. The assailants, all armed with guns, parked their motorcycles in such a position so as to fire several rounds on Manish Shukla from a close range.
This was a pre-planned attack which was well coordinated and executed flawlessly with perfect timing. The assailantsâ complete lack of fear of law and order and of the police indicate connivance with the state machinery including higher echelons of the police.
