Community-Wide Food Distribution Taking Place April 7 in Utica
It s spring break for a lot of local schools, and a few community organizations are coming together to make sure that those who may be food insecure have what they need.
The Utica Food Pantry is partnering with Compassion Coalition and Chobani to host a community-wide drive-thru food distribution for families in need today. The event is taking place from 10AM to 1PM - or until the boxes for community members are all gone.
During the distribution, which is taking place at the Irish Cultural Center in Utica, pre-packaged food boxes will be given out and will include meat, dairy and produce items.

UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Food Pantry will hand out 1,000 boxes of food at the Irish Cultural Center a in Utica on St. Patrick’s Day.
There will be meat, dairy and produce items in each of the boxes.
The drive-thru giveaway will start at 10 a.m., and carry on until all boxes are distributed. No registration is necessary.
Russ Brooks, chairman of the Board of Directors at the Utica Food Pantry, says they hand out food on St. Patrick’s Day in memory of the Irish lost during the Great Irish Famine from 1845 to 1852.
On St. Patrick s Day, residents of the city of Utica can participate in the latest food giveaway. This time, the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow, the Irish Cultural Center on Columbia Street in Utica.

Utica Fire Department Partnering With The Utica Food Pantry
Utica Food Pantry for a special food drive called Stuff and Bus.
Starting this weekend, The Utica Fire Department will be collecting donations to benefit the Utica Food Pantry. The Utica Food Pantry has been in the city of Utica for more than 30 years and serves more than 500 families a month.
Stuff and Bus will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for people in-need. It ll be taking place at the Price Chopper Supermarket located in Utica on Genesee Street on Saturday, December 12th from 9:00AM - 3PM.
The Utica Food Pantry is located on Broadway Street in Utica and is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 11:00AM and 1:00PM. You can make donations through the holiday season.
