He said it would require upgrades to local sporting infrastructure, opening up the âperfect opportunityâ for the Federal Government to provide the $20 million of remaining funds needed to kickstart a $68 million Sunshine Coast Stadium expansion.
Mr Wallace confirmed heâd written to the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer, asking them to reconsider if they could âopen the Treasury coffersâ and make $20 million available.
He said it was a great opportunity for a âchange of heartâ from the Federal Government.
âThis is a great opportunity now for the Federal Government to get on board,â Mr Wallace said.

TRILLICK and District Young Farmers Club (YFC) recently held its AGM via Zoom online meeting, with Colin McKinley, Club Leader, welcoming David Oliver from Dungiven YFC, who conducted the meeting. Secretary John Armstrong delivered a comprehensive report of the club’s workings in 2020, despite Covid-19 bringing its regular activities to an abrupt halt. Treasurer Shannen Vance presented a very satisfactory financial report and reported that the club presently has 41 members. At the AGM, the following officials were elected for the 2021/2022 season: President, Rachel Law; Club Leader, Colin McKinley; Assistant Club Leader, Charlie Henderson; Secretary, Megan Birney; Assistant Secretary, Jane McGrade; Treasurer, Jamie McCutcheon; Assistant Treasurer, Shannen Vance; PRO, William Graham; and Assistant PRO, Rebecca Mulligan.
Melissa Walshe creates history in becoming Ballymahon GAA Club s first lady chairperson

History was created at the Ballymahon GAA annual general meeting on Saturday, February 6 as Melissa Walshe was elected the club s first female chairperson.
The meeting, held via Zoom, saw Melissa succeed outgoing chairperson Christy Mannion, who stepped down after completing two separate terms in the position.

Our 2020 AGM was held online via Zoom last Saturday night - a first for the club. It was very well attended. The business of the meeting was conducted in a prompt fashion and there was good debate on a number of topics, in particular boosting lotto sales and general club development.
