Updates return on local music students
Hello Champaign County!
You’ve not had a column from me for awhile! I do have an excuse…the pandemic. Every time I sat down to write something – everything changed before I hit the “send” tab! That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it!
Meanwhile, I have nothing but great praise and good wishes for our local educators, and music educators in particular. As a former teacher, I cannot visualize what this past year has been for preparations in music departments. Bless our teachers and students for working so hard to maintain the work needed.
Limerick farmer in court over water issues

A COUNTY Limerick farmer was back before Kilmallock Court recently for a matter that dates back to 2016.
William O’Keeffe, of Ardroe, Pallasgreen was prosecuted by Limerick City and County Council for water pollution.
Aidan Leonard, a farmyard inspector with the council, had previously told the court Mr O’Keeffe has 33 hectares but he doesn’t have a farmyard.
“He had 57 cattle but has a lack of facilities. Out-wintering cattle causes poaching of the land. If the cattle compress the land, it is churned up and there is a run off of effluent,” said Mr Leonard.

A County Limerick farmer has been taken to court by Limerick City and County Council for water pollution.
Will Leahy, solicitor for the council, said this prosecution is a follow up to a previous prosecution against Sean Gleeson, of Seefin House, Glenosheen, over farm yard maintenance.
Kilmallock Court heard that Mr Gleeson had previously given an undertaking that he was going to sell his cattle.
Aidan Leonard, a farmyard inspector with the council, said Mr Gleeson currently has 23 cattle.
“This is in or around what he had before,” said Mr Leonard, who handed in photos to Judge Marian O’Leary.
