As part of a broad and long-standing tradition of collective bargaining through rioting, the eighteenth-century food riots erupted when, faced with the threat of scarcity and rising prices, a crowd composed largely of the working class assembled to demand affordable, accessible subsistence.

Starting Jan. 29, Moe Events will host the second annual WinterFest. This year’s festivities will take place at a new location, Prairie Hills Mall. Festivities will begin on the 29th at 4p.m.
According to organizer Sarah Moe, Winterfest is a family fun event spanning over the course of two days, beginning with a day of fun for adults and ending with a day of fun for the whole family.
