April 8 COVID-19 Community Update: Progression to yellow status | Emory University

On April 5, Emory took a step forward toward its goal of a full return in the fall: We moved from “orange” operating status to “yellow.” We made the change following careful consulting with infectious disease and public health experts as well as assessing multiple data inputs about campus operations. Brian Kemp made an announcement that included two primary changes to the state’s distribution model with regard to the COVID-19 vaccine. The phased rollout of COVID-19 vaccines is now under way across Georgia, with Emory Healthcare playing a lead role in the ongoing fight to mitigate the virus. To date, Emory Healthcare employees have administered more then 33,000 COVID-19 vaccines that exceeds any other healthcare system in the state, making Emory one of Georgia’s primary vaccination centers.
