A DUNFERMLINE woman who turned her life around after surviving domestic violence is helping West Fifers take steps to boost their mental health after lockdown. Mum Sharon Fraser’s inspirational story has seen her go from being homeless to heading up six West Fife walking groups. Sharon, 42, said: “I joined a walking group in Dunfermline in 2003. “I was a single mum with a young son and needed to find something to improve my health and help me lose weight. I really enjoyed walking and I improved my health, lost weight and improved my confidence along the way. Unfortunately, the group (later) folded.

That s how four-year-old Mehran Dildar who regards herself as President Cyril Ramaphosa s “biggest fan” greeted him when they met for the first time in Durban on Thursday.
Ramaphosa was on an oversight visit of the port when he had an audience with the little girl at the Transnet offices, who has aspirations of being president herself one day.
Her mother Fatima Dildar told TimesLIVE on Friday that Mehran, from Lotus Park, south of Durban, was still reeling from her meeting with Ramaphosa.
“She woke up this morning and said, Mummy, I met the president! ”

ROANOKE, Va. – Southwest Virginia and communities across the country are celebrating and honoring our headset heroes those who are heard, but not seen.
This week, Dispatcher Appreciation Week celebrates 911 dispatchers who work behind the scenes to keep us safe, holding up the thin gold line between the public and the first responders who are sent on the scene to aid people in their time of need.
Dispatchers work hard around the clock every day to keep the public safe, even during a pandemic when many are forced to stay home.
