The Interior Design Society (IDS) and Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) have once again partnered for the Sustainable Design Designer of the Year Award. After working together for several years, IDS and SFC are expanding on their collaboration to include other initiatives to educate the home furnishings industry on how to use and feature sustainable products in their businesses.
The Sustainable Design Award was established to recognize designers who create high quality, environmentally conscious spaces, and encourages designers to #getyourgreenon. Winning designs take into consideration the principles of social, economic and ecological sustainability ensuring that the design does not leave a negative impact on our environment.

The Interior Design Society has officially launched its latest groundbreaking initiative: The IDS List. The IDS List connects IDS designer members with potential clients. Designed for the consumer eye, this interactive platform features the work of IDS members nationwide and educates visitors on why and how to hire an interior designer. Most importantly, it hosts a searchable directory to help pair people searching for design services with IDS designers.
“We are thrilled to provide The IDS List as a resource to our members as well as consumers and homeowners.” said Jenny Cano, IDS Executive Director. “IDS is dedicated to educating the public on the value of hiring an interior designer, especially an IDS designer.”
