Running from lane eight in heat five, a powerful push on the final stretch saw Syombua cross in a time of 52.70 to finish fifth, behind Irish Phil Healy who clocked 51.98. Jamaica’s Stephenie Ann McPherson won Syombua’s heat in a time of 50.89. Natalia Kaczmarek of Poland was second at 51.06 with Mexico’s Paola Moran third at 51.18.

Tina Suteja, also a former Arkansas NCAA champion competing for Slovenia, cleared 14 feet, 11 inches and was among 15 vaulters advancing to the final. Morris cleared her opening height of 14-51/2, then because of rain, she requested a delay. Officials delayed the pole vault and shot put for about an hour.

UF Track and Field Wrap Up Indoor Season at NCAA s - ESPN 98 1 FM

The Florida Gators Men’s and Women’s Track and Field wrapped up their indoor campaign this past weekend. Both teams placed in the top 10, upholding a Gator standard that has been in place for over a decade at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Men’s team took home fourth place with a total of 34 points. On the women’s side, they secured a sixth place finish, earning 30 points. https://twitter.com/GatorsTF/status/1368951133088096258 Men’s: This was 17th time in history the Gators finished among the top 4 teams at NCAA nationals. With this is mind, UF now has the second-most indoor top-4 finishes in the nation. Only one other team, Arkansas, the host of this year’s Indoor Championship, holds more top-4 finishes with 29. Giving the Gators an eight point boost, Senior Raymond Ekevwo finished as runner up in the NCAA after crossing in 6.64 seconds in the 60 meters.
