SALT LAKE CITY At just 19 years old, Utah star Ty Jordan was taken from this world far too soon.
In one truncated, five-game season, the University of Utah standout running back touched thousands of lives, rushing for 597 yards and six touchdowns in a season that was on the brink of being shelved before returning for a shortened season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, just three days after his untimely death by an accidental gunshot wound, several groups of people have found ways to honor the memory of the late Utes running back.

University of Utah announced over the weekend that running back Ty Jordan has died. He was 19.
Utah Head Football Coach Kyle Whittingham, said in a statement on the university’s website: “Words cannot express the devastation and heartache that our team is feeling right now upon learning of the tragic death of our teammate and brother, Ty JordanTy’s personality and smile were infectious and he made a huge impact on our program in the short time he was with us. He leaves an indelible mark on each of us and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. From the bottom of our hearts, all of us in the Utah Football Family want to say we love you Ty and may you rest in peace.”

Utes running back Ty Jordan, who was named the Pac-12 freshman of the year this week and is ranked ninth in the country in rushing, was reportedly the victim of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, and Utah school officials announced Saturday that he has died.
