The New South Wales Government may have given the green light to the construction industry to recommence work again, but there are some major restrictions that will hamstring it further.
Projects in eight of the LGAs most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak will remain on pause while workers from those areas won’t be able to recommence work, making up roughly one in three of Sydney’s total.
With the freeze already expected to have wiped 15% off construction activity this quarter, the economic impact is expected to be protracted while restrictions remain.
