Syracuse, NY A Corcoran high school senior was stabbed to death in 2019 during a fight involving the father of his girlfriend’s children, lawyers said Wednesday.
But the man who actually stabbed Michael LaCoste, 19, to death was not the father of LaCoste’s girlfriend’s children, lawyers added.
Instead, LaCoste was killed by a friend of the father, Alexis Herrera-Cruz, 22, who jumped into the middle of the messy domestic situation.
On Thursday, Herrera-Cruz was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the June 17, 2019 homicide on Midland Avenue.
