Ugandans are increasingly losing interest in elections according to results from a released Afro-barometer survey conducted during the electioneering period.
The voter apathy is aligned with the majority thinking that the outcome of the violent political activities is not free and fair.
According to this survey, the fears of violence are high in urban areas more so in the central and eastern regions where the opposition political party, National Unity Platform polled the most votes.
Uganda held General elections on January 14 to elect the President and Members of Parliament and local council leaders.
The National Electoral Commission announced National Resistance Movement Party leader Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as winner of the elections.
