WARREN City resident Sue Gillespie said she never imagined a group she helped start in the spring of 1996 for people who liked miniature art would have lasted a year, let alone still be around 25 years later.
Members of the Warren Area Miniatures Club gathered Sunday afternoon at the Warren SCOPE Center to celebrate their 25th anniversary and share memories of what they like about the club.
Jean Smith of Warren, a 25-year member and president of the group, said many members make smaller-scale items for doll houses, which they assemble and paint.

There has been much talk about renaming Mosquito Lake after politicians or deceased people. Why not sell the naming rights like they do for baseball stadiums? Some of the great insect repellent companies might be interested. It could be called Cutter Lake or Deet Mosquito Lake. How about Off! Lake? The money could be used to encourage tourism.
