On Tuesday afternoon, when much of the Fastnacht Day rush had quieted down, Eric Butrym asked his wife and Easton Baking Company co-owner Christine DeFrancesco-Butrym if he should fry up another batch of fastnachts. She looked at the fully stocked cases of the Pennsylvania Dutch holiday treat.
“Do another fry,” she said.
Easton Baking Company had plenty of extra fastnachts thanks to the excess baking, but that’s part of what made 2021′s Fastnacht Day a wonderful success for the beloved Easton establishment. Plenty of preparation and an efficient check-out process made for a “satisfying” Fat Tuesday, DeFrancesco-Butrym said.
