Last year, the show was sidelined because of COVID-19.
This year, it s back in two forms: On May 14, audience members can either stream the show, which is presented by L Brands Foundation, from home or attend a live show at Easton Community Drive-In with emcee Amber Knicole, lead singer of neo-funk group MojoFlo.
“We wanted to do something that we knew we could do successfully at this point in time,” said Suzanne Cotton, 54, the chairwoman of CCAD s Fashion Design program and a member of the faculty since 2007.

She has been working with the 18 students who will be exhibiting in the show for a semester in a senior thesis class where they have been putting together collections of work.

And the big dance will feature way less of one marquee aspect: dancing.
A number of school districts have instituted no slow-dancing policies for their events this year, while others are limiting the time allowed on the dance floor. Some have nixed the activity altogether in favor of games and talent shows.
Although prom might look a bit different in 2021 at different venues to accommodate social distancing and with different rules to keep attendees safe most schools and students have welcomed back the end-of-year tradition that was so abruptly canceled last year at the height of the pandemic.
With Centennial High School on the Northwest Side still on a blended-learning schedule, its May 14 event at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will be the first time all seniors can gather in one spot.

“We call it a modern steakhouse, if you’re looking for a social, interactive dining experience,” said Adam Solomon, director of Columbus-based Peerless Management Group, which opened Galla Park Steak on April 21.

The menu has an abundance of restructured dishes, such as lobster escargot, cooked in the same traditional style as the timeless snail dish, with garlic butter, gruyere cheese and toast points.
