The round, which brought total seed funding to $6.4m, was led by Branded Strategic Hospitality with participation from Elevate Capital and Portland Seed Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach.
Led by Steven Sperry, co-founder and CEO, Minnow provides IoT-enabled Pickup Pods which offer a contact-free way to deliver and pick up food. The pods are being used by all of the leading food delivery services, as well as by restaurants and ghost kitchens that make their own deliveries.
They are installed in office buildings, multifamily residential properties, and college campuses throughout the United States and in Japan.

New funding: Seattle-based startup Minnow, makers of a contactless food delivery and pickup pod, has raised $3 million in seed funding.
The tech: The company’s IoT-enabled Pickup Pods are designed to offer a secure, convenient way to get food delivered to apartment buildings, offices, college campuses and elsewhere. Food is kept in individually locked cubbies without keypads or touchscreens. They are opened via smartphone QR code.
Traction: Founded in 2017, Minnow has installed its devices at locations throughout the U.S. and in Japan. The company says all leading food delivery services are relying on its tech, as are restaurants and ghost kitchens that make their own deliveries. The desire for contactless delivery options has been increasingly fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minnow Technologies, a Seattle-based IoT startup that has developed a contact-free food delivery and pickup solution called the Minnow Pickup Pod™, announced today that it raised a $3 million Series Seed round. Branded Strategic Hospitality, an early-stage venture capital fund based in New York, led the round. Also participating were Elevate Capital, the lead investor in Minnow’s earlier convertible note financings, and Portland Seed Fund. This financing brings Minnow’s total seed funding to $6.4 million.
