Microsoft Corp. conducted an investigation into co-founder Bill Gates’s involvement with an employee almost two decades ago after it was informed in 2019 of his attempt to start a romantic relationship with that person.
The board reviewed the matter and held a “thorough investigation” with the help of an external law firm, the software giant said. It didn’t reach a conclusion to the probe because Gates had stepped down before it was completed, Microsoft said.

MILLIONS LOSING JOBS
Businesses find it difficult to invest in long-term projects because it is impossible to predict how their costs may rise.
That is why investors were alarmed this week when US inflation figures for April were sharply higher than expected.
Inflation is a fire that, once lit, is hard to put out.
The extinguisher is higher, often much higher, interest rates.
Those used in the UK and US in the early 1980s to tackle roaring inflation led to many businesses going bust and millions losing their jobs.

Gov.
Ron DeSantis signed a sweeping elections bill into law Thursday at a closed-door event at the Hilton at Palm Beach International Airport.
The measure, which goes into effect immediately, mainly changes rules surrounding mail ballots. It limits when voters can slip their mail ballots into drop boxes to voting hours. It also requires election officials to guard or monitor drop boxes during the hours they are available to voters.
Additionally, the new law aims to curb so-called âballot harvestingâ by blocking anyone from dropping off ballots from more than two people who are not in their immediate family.
