Liz Truss addressed issues surrounding the Northern Ireland Protocol and the legal threats made by the European Union over the UK s plans to unilaterally extend the NI grace period. She explained that the move was a temporary measure and not a breach of the Protocol since it was common to see decisions like these made during a negotiation period. It comes as Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove failed to secure a two-year extension of the grace period - which reduces the number of checks at the Northern Ireland border.

Profit, excluding some items, will be 38 cents to 44 cents per share in the three months ending in April, the Houston-based company said Thursday in a statement. Analysts, on average, estimated 38 cents, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Annual profit will be from $1.70 to $1.88 a share, compared with an average estimate of $1.69.

Canada protecting species at risk habitat in greater Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve area

From: Environment and Climate Change Canada Today, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, announced that the Government of Canada will invest $402,400 over three years to conserve and restore habitat for species at risk in the greater Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve area. Located in West-Central Saskatchewan on the traditional lands of the Métis, Mistawasis Nêhiyawak, and Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, the habitat spans 112,000 hectares and supports many species, including twenty-two listed species at risk, such as the piping plover and the bobolink. Bloomberg | Feb 26, 2021 Ian King (Bloomberg)  Dell Technologies Inc. reported quarterly revenue that topped analysts’ estimates bolstered by continued strong demand for personal computers needed for work and study from home. Server and networking sales gained 3% to $4.4 billion from a year earlier, breaking a streak of seven consecutive quarters of year-over-year declines, while storage hardware revenue fell 2% to $4.4 billion. Sales from VMware Inc., which is majority-owned by Dell, was $3.3 billion. The publicly traded company offers software for data centers. VMware Chief Executive Officer Pat Gelsinger left the company to become CEO of Intel Corp. earlier this month. Dell is considering plans to spin off VMware, but has said it won’t make a decision until after September 2021.
