The Cincinnati Art Museum is iconic. In addition to housing world-renowned works of art and hosting internationally recognized artists, the museum is also incredibly accessible and family friendly. Last spring, the Cincinnati Art Museum took its commitment to community engagement to the next level with the Art Climb.
The Art Climb is a stunning work of art that marries form and function through a nine-story staircase. It’s 164 carefully laid steps that literally link the Cincinnati Art Museum to the community.

The Art Climb includes a staircase from the sidewalk at the intersection of Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Avenue and leading all the way up to the front museum entrance. This project connects the Cincinnati Art Museum to its neighbors in a dramatic and meaningful way. (A Cincinnati Metro bus stop is located at the bottom of the staircase.)

CINCINNATI â Seven years ago Barbara Hauser launched the Red Door Project as a pop-up art gallery event in Over-the-Rhine.
Hauser would host the Red Door Project in an empty retail space as a way to showcase the neighborhood s potential. It sort of evolved, Hauser said of the project as it matured. We started to see new theaters open . . . the Shakespeare Theater, the Ensemble Theater. And so we started moving to their lobbies.
R&B on the hill
It’s been more than a year since the Playhouse in the Park’s Marx Theatre has hosted a live show.
That all changes April 30, with the opening of “Higher and Higher: A Rock ‘n Soul Party with Chester Gregory.”
It’s just a three-performance engagement. And instead of seating 626 people, the Playhouse is limited to 30 percent of capacity, meaning that just 187 (or so) tickets will be sold.
But there will be live performers; Broadway star Chester Gregory, along with a four-piece band and a pair of backup singers. And there will be oodles of songs made famous by R&B giants like Sam Cooke, James Brown and Otis Redding, among others.
