Doha: The Doha Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently organised a seminar on ‘Union Budget 2021 , which was followed by annual general meeting (AGM) on February 14.
The event was organised on virtual platform and was well attended by over 150 attendees, comprising chapter members who are eminent finance professionals from the leading organisations and students.
Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr. Deepak Mittal attended the event. The Ambassadors described the Union Budget 2021 as the path-breaking budget, paving the way to make a self-reliant India. He also termed the budget as visionary and progressive, with a view to rejuvenate and ramp up infrastructure development as slew of big-ticket projects were announced.

Institute of Chartered Accountants warns members against ‘highly objectionable’ social media posts

The Institute of Chartered Accountants has presented new social media guidelines for its members, which includes a warning to not post “highly objectionable content” that may have the potential to “create social and communal disharmony” or have internal security, cross-border or geopolitical implications for the country.
The accountancy regulator has indicated that such comments would be construed as professional misconduct that could lead to disciplinary proceedings against a member and even cancellation of registration of a student.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants said such posts were bringing disrepute to the profession, warning them it could lead to them being held guilty of misconduct.

New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued guidelines to its members for posting any content on social media that tarnishes the image of the CA profession or the Institute in the eyes of the public.
In an advisory published on its website on February 11, the ICAI â a statutory body to regulate the CA profession â said it came across âcertain instancesâ where members and students have expressed professional or academic grievances on social media without first approaching the regulator. Some have also written to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the nodal body of ICAI, and other higher forums, the advisory said.
