A north Phoenix branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs closed its doors Wednesday through the remainder of July after seeing a drastic increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale reported more than 20 positive cases of COVID-19 this week at its Vestar branch, located near 40th Street and Pinnacle Peak Road in Phoenix, according to a spokesperson.
The first two cases were reported on Monday and additional positive tests filtered in as staff alerted club members on Tuesday morning, according to the spokesperson of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. As of Thursday afternoon, more than 20 positive cases were confirmed among staff and club members.
