Fear and punishment keep many away from breaking the rules. But as the storytellers at Teton County Libraryâs Cabin Fever Story Slam revealed last week, rule-breaking also can be an essential and healthy part of life.
The online event marked the seventh anniversary of the libraryâs story slam tradition. Conducted Jan. 19 over Zoom, this yearâs virtual gathering was intended to mirror past in-person competitions in which storytellers placed their names in a bucket for a chance to tell their true tale in five minutes or less.
Over 40 people tuned in for the occasion, with five risk-takers revealing some of their most daring tales of breaking the rules.
