Washington Business Partnership Hosts Pandemic-Modified Annual Dinner

Washington County businesses, organizations, and other community members gathered at five area restaurants Monday evening for the annual Washington Business Partnership Dinner. This was the first year for the event to be held since the pandemic, and the organizers decided to offer three different opportunities for the public to watch the prerecorded half hour program. Washington Mayor Jaron Rosien noted during the watch party at JP’s 207 that while they anticipated possibly 200 total attendees out of the usual 400 that are hosted at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, around 300 people registered for this year’s event. Unofficial Results in for Washington County Special Elections

The unofficial results are in for Washington County’s three special elections Tuesday. For the Washington County Board of Supervisors District 3 race, Republican nominee Marcus Fedler received the most votes with 98, with Dwight Miller coming in second with 85 votes, Jonathan Bartholomew receiving 72, and Josh Schreiber receiving 50. In the Washington City Council Ward 3 race, Illa Earnest received the most votes with 143 and Haleigh Brockman received 39. The measure to continue the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy in the Highland School District passed with 205 voting in favor and 56 voting opposed. Washington Chamber Hosting City Council Candidates Forum | KCII Radio

Residents of Washington’s third ward can learn more about the two candidates running to represent them on the city council this Saturday. The Washington Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Candidates’ Forum on Zoom with Haleigh Brockman and Illa Earnest who are running for the seat that was vacated by Brendan DeLong after being elected the fire chief.
