Monday is National Everything You Think Is Wrong day.so we’re giving you a chance to sound off on what you think is wrong! Lay your pet peeves on us!
JStew: Oh man.. I think like most folks, I could probably go on all day. About a hundred different things, at least. But I think the things that get to me the most, sadly, are things I can t control. For instance, I absolutely HATE traffic lights. Well, most traffic in general. If transporters from Star Trek are ever a thing in my lifetime, I will gladly hop on the bandwagon. But. there s also absolutely nothing I can do about it. Lights are always going to be there, and lord knows you can t control the driver of the car in front of you either. So that leaves you only being able to control yourself. And frankly, that s just not very satisfying. Traffic = wrong.
For this week s Throwback Thursday, we were wondering what your favorite, or least favorite, candy that Grandma used to keep around when you were a kid?
JStew: My Grandmother, that we all affectionately called Gummy, Not because she didn t have teeth, but tat s what the oldest grandkid started with. My grandfather was called Gumpy, for that matter. Anyway, Gummy used to have all that old lady candy, right beside her chair. I think my favorite of all her candies was Ganong Chicken Bones. Or Peach Blossoms. Totally a tie. One was filled with peanut butter, and the other with chocolate, and I don t remember which at all, haha. However, she also used to keep around chocolate covered candied ginger. As an adult, I think it s amazing. But when I was 6 or 7, that was the most vile stuff I had put in my mouth up to that point. Like, made me not trust her again for years, kind of gross. Thankfully, I ve gotten over that one a bit. Also, I maaaayyy have a bag of Werther s Originals in my cupb

When Megan witnessed a colleague being sexually harassed at the cafe she worked in, she didn t know what to do. It was a male owner and manager, but all the workers were young girls. He d always been a little bit inappropriate with us. He d always make comments about what we were wearing or how we looked. When this new girl joined, all of those comments that he d been making beforehand all of a sudden were directed at her tenfold. It just gave me a really bad feeling. More so than what he said, it was the way he acted. It just felt wrong.
Hey Bangor, Do You Possess An Amazing Or Unusual Hidden Talent?
Today, we were hoping you might share your hidden or unusual talents with the rest of the world. Instead of keeping them in the dark, let those talents shine today!
JStew: I m not sure I d call it a hidden talent, but a lot of folks don t know that I can cook. I talk about it on our posts, and on the air sometimes, but before my years in radio, I worked in just about every restaurant worth it s salt in Portland. Then when I ran out of those, I had two of my own. Which leads me to my second hidden talent: managing money. I m a budgeting wizard. Certainly, there s a lot more to know about money than I know, but I can push peas around the money plate better than a lot of people. A skill I owe to my mother. She s the magician when it comes to that stuff.
