Cori Skall
JStew: To be honest, though the photo is not strange to me, it s from a few weeks ago, and I have pretty much spaced what it is, and like other folks, have been waiting until today to remember exactly what it is. I felt like it looked super obvious, but there was some sort of plot twist at the end, as though this were some sort of Alfred Hitchcock photo or something. Did you guess right?!
Cori: Originally, I took a picture of this because I was so proud of myself for not lighting it on fire and/or totally destroying dinner.because I have been known to do so. So I took the picture, and was admiring how creamy the topping looked.and was suddenly inspired! And that s how this week s What s This Wednesday clue came to be..
Today, I-95 Listeners Gave Shout Outs To Their Favorite People.
This morning, we thought it might be nice to give you a chance to honor someone awesome in your life. For like, no reason. We dubbed it Toot Another Tuesday . We shared a bunch on the air, and then put them here too, just for you! Or in this case, someone else!
JStew: To be honest, I can t get through anything like this without giving a shout out to the three baddest women I know. My mom, of course. Because well, she s my mom. You could not ask for a more fierce Mama Bear than her. My wife KStew, because she is my rock in every way, and puts up with me on my best days. Sometimes those are worse than my worst days, hahaha. And to my partner-in-crime, Cori. You just can t mess with a single mother of four. If that s not the epitome of strength and perseverance, I don t know what is.
We were wondering on this fine Friday. We know we have ours, but what s your favorite little out of the way, hole-in-the-wall spot for tasty grub?
JStew: Oh boy... even though I ve lived here in the Bangor area for the last 8 years, I feel like I still find new places all the time. One favorite of mine and KStew is down in Brooks at Ralph s Cafe. All sorts of homemade breads and pastries. Love it there. I m also a huge fan of Dabesta Pizza in Bangor on Thatcher Road by Beal University. And when I travel to Portland, It s Marcy s Diner all the way. Honestly, going out to eat is one of my favorite things in the world, and have suffered during the pandemic. But we get takeout often, and don t use gift cards, so we re still trying to do our part to keep Maine owned restaurants going. But man, I can t wait to sit indoors again someday, and have someone keep bringing me food til I keel over and pass out!
Ton Of Pasta: Come Give JStew & Cori Your Noodles For Manna
Pasta! It s cheap to make but oh-so-filling! And that s exactly why we ask you to help us collect just as much of it as we possibly can! For the better part of the last 2 decades, we ve partnered with local food pantries to try to restock their shelves after the holiday season.
This year, on the heels of what was one of the most trying times in recent history, the need for food has been so much greater. And we want to make sure our friends and neighbors, and their families, have a way to fill their bellies. For less than $5 worth of pasta and sauce, you can make a meal that would feed a household. So we hope you ll consider stopping by to donate!
