Ghaziabad: There was chaos over cremation of a woman’s body in Masuri area on Thursday with her family accusing her husband and his relatives of not treating her although she had Covid-like symptoms.
Police said they got information about the incident when the woman’s husband Sandeep and his family were about to cremate her. The deceased has been identified as Savita alias Kavita (23). Later, Sandeep and his father were arrested. Sandeep told police that Savita was suffering from fever for the past two days and also had other Covid-like symptoms. “On Wednesday night, she was found dead. Her in-laws decided to cremate her without informing her family,” a police officer said.
