Wild but beautiful speedster gets fractionally more practical windscreen in a bid to broaden appeal
McLaren has introduced a new version of the 2021 McLaren Elva that features a windscreen to help boost the appeal of its open-air speedster.
Created for those who “prefer to have a physical screen”, the addition of glass in place of the Elva’s innovative Active Air Management System (AAMS) also allows the British car-maker to sell its roadster in US states that ban the sale of screen-less vehicles.
Weighing in at around 20kg more than the original Elva, despite the addition of an upright screen the wild McLaren remains roofless and lacks both side glass and a rear screen to protect you from the elements.

US dealer reveals all-new replacement for 570S set for online debut
The McLaren Artura will be officially unveiled during an online presentation on February 17, a US dealer has revealed.
According to Motorcars of Atlanta, “McLaren celebrities” will pull the drapes from the all-new hybrid-powered McLaren Artura at the British supercar-maker’s Woking HQ during an event specially tailored to the media and owners.
But plenty is already known about the replacement for the entire McLaren Sport Series range.
Developed under the ‘High-Performance Hybrid’ (HPH) codename, the McLaren Artura is thought to come from the Celtic name ‘noble’.
