Two employees and two police officers were allegedly assaulted during the incident. They sustained minor injuries.
The suspect also left the incident with minor injuries, and he was treated at Richmond General Hospital.
He is currently in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing facing possible mischief charges of over $5,000, an assault charge, and a charge of assaulting a peace officer.
A video has been circulating on social media in a possible connection to this incident, but when asked about it, Corporal Ian Henderson of the Richmond RCMP said, “We are aware that there may be relevant video circulating on social media. However, this investigation is still ongoing and it would be inappropriate to speak to this apparent evidence at this time.”

Police are appealing to the public for help to identify a person wanted in an alleged hate incident at a Richmond drive-thru.
On Thursday, Richmond RCMP released a photo of the man, who was reportedly standing near a drive-thru window on May 1 when he began yelling at a family in an SUV. When a bystander intervened and told the man to leave, the man “began hurling anti-Asian slurs at him,” said Mounties in a news release.
