Lt. Gen. Daniel Karbler threw out the ceremonial first pitch during the Milwaukee Brewersâ Military Appreciation Night game against the Detroit Tigers, May 31. The Brewers won 3-2 in 10 innings.
During the game, Bob âMr. Baseballâ Uecker, legendary play-by-play announcer for Brewersâ radio broadcasts, invited Karbler into the announcersâ booth and thanked him and the men and women in the military for their service.
âIt is always good to see you,â Uecker said. âWe met a few years back when Dan was kind enough to come up in the booth at that time and we have been friends ever since. To have him here today, throw out the first pitch and get a chance to visit with him is always a big plus.â
MANDAN, N.D. â The 2021 Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at noon Monday, May 31, at theNorth Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 6.5 miles south of Mandan on North Dakota Highway 1806. This annual event, hosted by the North Dakota National Guard, honors all deceased American servicemen and women and is free to the public. This yearâs theme is âKorean War â Never Forgotten.
