North Carolina to see a woman he met online was found passed out drunk in Port Huron with four loaded guns, drugs and his 11-year-old son in the car,
A Port Huron officer noticed a blue Honda Civic parked at the Marathon gas station in the 1300 block of Military Street at 1:32 a.m. Monday (May 17).

A North Carolina man was arrested early Monday morning stemming from an incident at a Port Huron gas station. According to Port Huron Police, the man was seen at the Marathon gas station in the 1300 block of Military Street slumped over the steering wheel of his car around 1:30am. In the backseat was an 11 year old child and a loaded handgun. The man – a 40 year old from Raeford, North Carolina – reportedly traveled to Port Huron to meet a woman he had met online. He was driving on a suspended license and did not have a permit for the handgun. Additional firearms, open liquor, and prescription drugs were also found inside the vehicle. The man was taken to the St. Clair County Jail and authorities are making arrangements to return the child to North Carolina. The suspect is expected to face charges including carrying a concealed weapon, child endangerment, and operating under the influence of drugs, among others. Dearborn Music plans second record store in Farmington

A longstanding local record shop is planning to expand to a second location as it celebrates its 65th year in business.
Dearborn Music Monday announced plans to open a second shop later this summer in the Groves Retail Center at Farmington and Grand River. The new location will sell vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, clothing, accessories, games and other pop culture merchandise.
“I’ve always thought Farmington would be a great town for a second location. I’m looking forward to establishing relationships with the community and branching out into a new era,” said co-owner Kevin LeAnnais. He and his brother, Rick LeAnnais, purchased the business in 2001 from their father Phil LeAnnais, who bought the store in 1956 from previous owner Norris Smith.

Rhiannon Galloway said she walks down the Blue Water River Walk and through the long tunnel beneath Military Street with her 7-year-old sister Zoe every afternoon.
They live nearby. But the 15-year-old admits the experience getting to the waterfront in that area, just south of the St. Clair Wetlands Park, would be different when it gets dark out.
“I sometimes come down at night with my friend … who lives up there, but it’s usually not too much of an issue. It’s just a little spooky,” Rhiannon said. “So, we’re usually only out for half an hour and then go back.”
