GHAZIABAD: Incidents of theft are on the rise in the areas under the jurisdiction of almost all police stations in Ghaziabad so far this year. According to Ghaziabad police data, a total of 1,284 FIRs of theft have been lodged in the district from January 1 to June 30 this year, a spike of nearly 19% compared to the corresponding period in 2020, when 1,082 cases were filed.
Most of the theft cases registered this year (977) are vehicle thefts. The data reveals that most vehicle thefts have been reported in Kavi Nagar (139), followed by Indirapuram (115) and Sahibabad (95). The most burglaries have occurred in Sahibabad (41), followed by Indirapuram (35).

A video showing Ashok Kumar Gupta, the officer, giving the gun to Nagesh and the youth firing from it has gone viral on social media.
Forest officer Gupta claimed the weapon in the video was an air gun that belonged to Nagesh himself and the MLA’s son had given it to him for “keeping it safe”.

GHAZIABAD: Two videos of a man firing shots in the air have gone viral on social media platforms. In the video, the man is seen firing several rounds of bullets in the air.
According to police, the video was recorded in Loni and an FIR has been lodged against the accused. “There are two videos of the same person that have went viral. In the first video, the man was firing several bullets with a country-made pistol, while in the another clip, he was firing in the air with a rifle,” a police officer said.
