The Ghaziabad Police arrested a man and his associate after a purported video of him beating a Muslim boy, who had gone to drink water at a temple, was widely shared on social media,
Hindustan Times reported on Saturday.
The video showed the accused asking the boy for his and his father’s name. Then he asked the boy what he was doing inside the temple. After the boy said that he came to drink water, the accused began thrashing him. He hit the boy on the head and twisted his arm. The accused continued to hit the boy even after he fell down. All this while, the man’s accomplice recorded the video. The video was originally shared by an Instagram account called Hindu Ekta Sangh. It has since been deleted.

GHAZIABAD: “Badhiya se donon ka chehra aana chahiye (our faces should be clearly visible)”, Shringi Narayan Yadav instructs his aides before beating a 14-year-old boy black and blue. With blows raining on him, all the boy can mutter through the pain is a faint, “Paani peene aaye thhe uncle (I had come here to drink water)”.
But the beatings did not stop. Shringi didn’t just want to teach him a lesson. He also wanted to set an example. The man from Bhagalpur in Bihar, a worker at the Dasna Devi temple in Ghaziabad, had on Friday evening flown into rage at the sight of the boy drinking water from a tap on the premises of the temple. Shringi asked the boy his name, before ripping into him.

In a horrific video doing the rounds on social media, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad was seen asking a boy his name and then thrashing him mercilessly upon learning that the Muslim boy had gone to a temple to drink water.
Ghaziabad Police have now arrested the accused who was seen in the video and an FIR has also been registered based on the clip. The man has been identified as Shringi Nandan Yadav, son Ashwani Kumar Yadav, a native of Bihar.
Ghaziabad SP Iraj Raja said, “The accused who was seen assaulting the boy in the video is a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar. He has been arrested and an FIR has been registered. A probe has been launched.”
