May 24 Artist Kelly Knopp doesn t begrudge the stream of newcomers who are transforming the Treasure Valley.
He moved to Idaho as a 4-year-old in 1986. From California.
But after decades living in Idaho s capital city, Knopp does find himself reminiscing about the good ol days.
So he and his sister, Heidi Tilby, created a new brand, Boise OG. The line of stickers ($6), hats ($25) and shirts ($28) sold online at boiseog.com has been a surprise hit since launching in March. It s been crazy, says Knopp, 38, who does the artwork and collaborates with Tilby on ideas.
Ohana Festival 2021 Lineup Revealed
The SoCal-based Ohana Festival will return this year and Eddie Vedder will once again have a major presence, headlining one of the nights solo while having Pearl Jam headline one of the other nights. Kings of Leon will do the headlining honors for the third evening.
It s once again a stellar lineup for the beach-based festival which is set to take place the weekend of Sept. 24-26 at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, Calif.
Kings of Leon will headline opening night on Sept. 24 with support from My Morning Jacket, Black Pumas, Durand Jones and the Indicators, Caamp, The Regrettes, Plague Vendor, Greer, Kevin Garrett, La Luz, Amo Amo, Modern Eyes, Sky McCreery and Taz.

Several men sit at a bar, in a frontier settlement somewhere in Oregon. The Columbia river gushes nearby. They are talking about a cow, the first to be brought to the settlement via the river. Her mate and calf have not survived the journey. “This ain’t a place for cows,” one man says. “Well, it’s no place for white men either,” another replies. Their conversation feels searingly ironic when reflecting on a country whose cinematic history is dominated by white men, and whose national dish is the hamburger. Yet this is also a reminder that much of America’s multinational colonial history has been erased.
