Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis meets with Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Marise Payne Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Bern, 07.05.2021 - On Friday 7 May 2021, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis held an official working meeting in Geneva with Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Marise Payne. Bilateral relations between the two countries and multilateral cooperation were the main topics of discussion.
During the meeting, Mr Cassis and his Australian counterpart highlighted the good relations between their two countries. Switzerland and Australia are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year..
“On this occasion, we have the intention to consolidate our bilateral relations, intensify exchanges and explore new areas of collaboration”, said the federal councilor Cassis.

India, Kazakhstan agree to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation
New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) India and Kazakhstan on Friday agreed to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, including through training, defence exercises and capacity building.
During the bilateral talks here, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while interacting with the Kazakhstani delegation led by the Lieutenant General Nurlan Yermekbayev, underscored the need to look at the possibility of defence industrial collaboration of mutual interest.
The Defence Minister of Kazakhstan thanked Mr Singh for the opportunity given to the Kazakh troops for deployment as part of the Indian battalion in United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Both Ministers also positively assessed the annual KAZIND Exercise.
