Huntington men sentenced on firearm charges

Two convicted of federal gun charges

HUNTINGTON — Two Huntington men face federal prison sentences after admitting this week to firearm offenses. In the first case, Tyson Davis, Sr. 42, of Huntington pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. According to court documents, on April 17, 2019, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a 9th Avenue residence in Huntington and found Davis on the couch. Officers recovered a loaded Glock 23 .40 caliber pistol from under a cushion. They also located distribution amounts of a heroin and fentanyl mixture and methamphetamine during the search. Davis later admitted to possessing the firearm. He faces a minimum mandatory five years in prison at his Aug. 16 sentencing.

Police roundup: Huntington women jailed on drug charges

HUNTINGTON — Two Huntington women were arrested on Thursday as a result of three narcotics search warrants executed in the West End. Huntington Police Chief Ray Cornwell said members of the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Force, the Huntington Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Bureau and SWAT team, along with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives executed the warrants. The warrants led to the seizure of 133 grams of suspected heroin, 135 grams of crystal methamphetamine, more than $22,000 in cash and three firearms. One raid in the 700 block of West 3rd Street led to the arrest of Pamela McCoy, 51, of Huntington, who Cornwell said was in possession of 14.7 grams of suspected crystal meth and 8 grams of suspected heroin. She was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy.

Two admit guilt in federal drug cases

Michael Stanley Wright, 33, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, Wright admitted law enforcement officers searched his house on Washington Avenue in Huntington on March 4, 2020. Officers seized about 194.3 grams of methamphetamine mixture and 4.7 grams of fentanyl. Wright was also found with meth and fentanyl in his possession when he was searched following his arrest. Also seized by law enforcement officers during the search were two firearms and approximately $5,536 in cash, which was money Wright had made from selling drugs. Wright admitted that he intended to sell the fentanyl and methamphetamine.
