SOME large barrels, a few flowerpots and planks of wood all tied together with rope were teamed with strong arms and pure determination to ensure that a crew of North Galway men made the arduous journey across Galway Bay to help raise funds towards medical support for a young girl injured earlier this year.

Javier Garde Larrión empezó a los 15 años como camarero en el bar Gaviola, en su Estella natal. A partir de ese momento se forjó detrás de barras como la del hospital, la del Florida, del polideportivo, del Monjardín o del Stop, todo bares en la misma ciudad, hasta ponerse a los mandos del Dos Pasos junto a su mujer Arantxa Murguialday Ercille, vecina de Eulate. Estuvieron nueve años. Después pasaron a llevar el Batzoki de Estella y lo gestionaron a lo largo cinco años hasta que en 2021 acabaran contrato.
