The pair are keeping the tradition alive in Tullamore while most other Irish distilleries use barrels from Scottish coopers. They are learning from head cooper Enguerrand Vandenbossche.

Two Offaly students have won a top award at the National Final of the Student Enterprise Programme.
Students from St. Brendan’s Community School in Birr have won the Natasha Lynch Commemorative Award for Excellence in Social Media award at the National Final of this year’s Student Enterprise Programme.
The Finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were broadcast virtually on Friday from Croke Park with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Ambassador Derval O’Rourke speaking with host RTE’s Rick O’Shea, as students and teachers watched on from across the country.

Two Offaly photographers have advanced to the next stage of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) ‘Reach for the Stars’ astrophotography competition.
The photographers feature in the online public vote that was launched this week by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, during a private visit to DIAS’s Dunsink Observatory.
The two Offaly photographers included in the online public vote are Seanie Morris and Tom O’Hanlon who are both from Tullamore. Tom has three pictures in the public vote. You can see them all below the links
