Charleston is racking up the accolades this month.
Hotel Emeline earned a pretty big nod from Travel + Leisure’s “It List 2021: Our Editors’ Picks of the Best New Hotels in the World.”
The 16th annual list spotlights 73 revamped properties in 29 countries that opened their doors for the first time last year. The list is compiled by T+L editors and writers.
The downtown Charleston hotel opened July 1 and Travel + Leisure said it is the “little things that make the hotel memorable.” That includes the welcome punch, the classic soul, bookcases, art, complimentary beach cruisers and turntables in bedrooms.
Guests also enjoy roasted coffee by Second State Coffee and country ham biscuits and kombucha from Clerks Coffee Co., one of two on-site restaurants. The other is Frannie & the Fox, an Italian wood-fired eatery that serves seafood, pizzas and cocktails.

Expedia is offering one of the cheapest ways to do so: two-week stays at high-end domestic properties for just $20.20.
The catch? There are only six reservations to claim (two at each property), so mark your calendar if you re interested. The rooms will go on sale December 14 at 8:20 p.m. EST, and are likely to sell out quickly; each reservation is good for a two-week stay for two in April 2021.
